Kealakekua Bay is a popular place to kayak and snorkel. Many boat tours visit the North area of the bay near Captain Cook Monument, which has excellent snorkeling and diving. The boat dock at Napoopoo and the small beach nearby are popular kayak launching points. The bay is also home to Manini Beach, a small beach with a large tree-shaded lawn.
