* Lapakahi is a Historical Park that contains the remains of an old Hawaiian fishing village. The park has bathrooms, and ample parking but no water fountain.

*Pamphlets at the parking lot give you a self guided tour of the park.
* There is no sandy beach here; only a coral / rock rubble beach, and the water has dangerous currents. Experienced snorkelers and divers sometimes use this spot, however most people prefer nearby Mahukona park for water activities.

As with most places on the island, there is no lifeguard; always be careful around the ocean.
* Open daily 8:00 am to 4:00 pm; closed state holidays.

Directions: located on Highway 270 about 10 miles North of Kawaihae.
