The Garden of Pua Mau Place at Keanahalululu Gulch
10 Ala Kahua ~ Kawaihae 808 882-0888

The gardens sit on the western slope of the Kohala Mountains above the Pacific Ocean. At present the gardens contain an expanding number of plants. The garden boasts impressive ocean and mountain views. Whether you are a "local" or a visitor, this is a wonderful experience that should not be missed!

Bring a lunch and sit at the picnic tables under the trees, relax, enjoy, explore. Our plants are marked, and we provide a booklet for a self-guided tour. Shade umbrellas are provided.

Pua Mau Garden is a great place to explore and keikis (kids) can spend the day roaming through the grounds, feeding the birds and without even knowing it, be awed by the wonders of nature.

Pikake Gallery has arts and crafts from local artists. Live plants are available, pre-approved for shipment to the mainland. Bottled water, soft drinks and snacks are available.

With low rainfall and intense sun, this area is ideal for plant cultivation, provided there is adequate water. We have 2 wells on the land and the gardens are on a drip irrigation system.
